Welcome to my introductory post for our local blog. In the spirit of being a local and foodie, I would like to share some of my favorite spots around town and hopefully I can share some of my experience of Fort Lauderdale.
Food: Heritage
Ok so this place opened just before the pandemic, A walking distance from Victoria Park and in the heart of Flagler Village. Heritage is a unique flavor of a wood oven pizza coupled with fresh and unique lighter fare. We have had the pleasure of going a few times and it always delivers. Ingridients are fresh, salads are amazing and ambiance is on point. The vibe is urban and cozy; it does not feel like you are in Florida at all. Feels like a small restaurant on a side street in a bigger city. Dont Miss it!
Spot: Holiday Park
Holiday Park is part of my daily life, It is a large municipal park with all the amenities. It has sports leagues for all ages, Tennis courts, pickle ball courts, dog parks (1 for small dogs, 1 for large dogs) Football and Soccer fields (artificial turf and natural), Volleyball, basketball courts, playgorunds and more. It is really a wonderful place and the maintenance is 100% professional. I walk to the park daily to take my dog to the dog park. The fellow residents are a charm to engage. The exercise paths and jogging trails are always busy. The city has events here all summer long. It is a place that brings in everyone together, From professional athletes training off season to locals practicing their skating and tai chi. A wonderful center point for our community, come and check it out.
Night Spot: The Easton Rooftop Pool & Lounge
This is a relatively new venue in town. It boasts of a magnificent view over East Fort Lauderdale all the way to the ocean. Whether you plan on going to catch some sun and enjoy some of their signature cocktails or plan a night out to have the outdoor club feel while still being in the middle of the city, this place has a fun Floridian feel.
